The body of the Sterling Pacific travel cases is constructed from reinforced 5000 series aluminum. Substantial hydraulic pressure is used to bend and shape the 0.9mm aluminum sheets to form the body.
5000 series aluminum alloys are used in the aviation industry due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance and formability. Sterling Pacific uses a customized reinforced alloy for additional endurance that is over 50% more durable than normal 5000 series alloys.
